The Feast of the Immaculate Conception takes place on 8th December, which celebrates the solemn belief in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

First solemnized as a Holy Day of Obligation in 1708, it is celebrated with Holy Mass, processions and community gatherings in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In some countries like Panama, 8th December is observed as Mother’s Day in honour of the Our Lady and is a national holiday.
