Good day to one and all! Welcome to Day 12 of Suzanne’s Cheongsam Challenge.
I chose to wear a lovely lavender and black batik cheongsam today. I like placing the ‘head’ panel of the batik sarong in the front as it is striking and dramatic all at once, as you can see here.
For those who are unfamiliar with the joys of wearing a 100% cotton batik outfit, the fabric softens with time and hardly ever creases…and is oh so comfortable on the skin.
The satin trim around the edges is in the same shade of lavender too, and the same colour of satin trim is used for the simple Chinese style buttons on either side of the front opening cuts.
To add some colour contrast, I opted for vintage hand-beaded (by myself) orange accessories to bring the laid back lavender colours to life. And to complete the ensemble, a plain pair of gold faced sandals.
