All Knotted Up…?

In the last few years, we discovered with much delight, the special novena to ‘Mary Undoer of Knots’ or ‘Mary Untier of Knots’ and are pleased to note that we share this favourite Marian devotion with Pope Francis (please click here for article).

The ‘knots’ in this context relates to the challenges in our daily lives for which we do not see any solution. In today’s world, the 300 year Marian devotion is fast gaining popularity far and wide, as it has been translated into several languages. It is interesting to note that it is not based on any apparition of the Virgin Mary.

To show its popularity through the ages, the devotion has its place in the Pinterest too. And, for mobile phone techies out there, there is even an App for this novena from itunes – click here to view.

While we are on the subject of Pope Francis, he happens to be the cover story of the APR-JUN 2013 issue of the 24-page Garabandal International magazine which is available online for your reading pleasure, please click here.

Our Lady’s Messages to the World

Followers of all Marian apparitions would know that wherever she has appeared, the Blessed Virgin Mary always left the visionaries with requests to pray for the good of mankind and peace in the world.

The spectrum of apparitions all over the world

To outline all the apparitions of Our Lady over the years, would entail a lot of research and thankfully, it has been compiled into a book entitled …For the salvation of the World…..( A Love Story about Mary). Click here for more information and a free download of the most updated book.

I take this opportunity to remind all who believe in the power of praying the rosary, that 15 August 2012 is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Garabandal and its historic flow of events

A while ago, I introduced the Garabandal site via this link.

Situated in the Cantabrian Mountains of northwest Spain, San Sebastian de Garabandal is a small hamlet, unique in the history of Marian apparitions, with the Blessed Virgin Mary appearing over 2000 times from July 2, 1961 until November 13, 1965.

For the longest time, the people of this humble and remote village have gathered together daily for the recitation of the rosary and litanies of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

If this raises a curiosity for more information on the flow of events that took place….here are the links for you to click on..

For those who pray the rosary, please keep it up on a daily basis…

God Bless

Tony

The Garabandal International Magazine, April-June 2012 Issue

For all who are interested in the latest updates from Garabandal, here is the April – June 2012 issue of the Garabandal International magazine for your online reading pleasure….

“Garabandal International” is published quarterly, by the Australian Garabandal International Apostolate. The purpose of “Garabandal International” is to promote and disseminate the messages of Garabandal.

These messages were given to the world by the Blessed Virgin Mary in her apparitions to four young children in San Sebastian de Garabandal, Spain during the years 1961 to 1965. (Although three of the girls have the same surname, they are not related).

I take this opportunity to remind all who believe in the power of praying the rosary, that MAY is the Marian month, hence it would be good to try to pray the rosary at least once a day.

Till the next update, thank you for your interest in Our Lady’s messages to us.

Garabandal – An Introduction

In my capacity as Director of the Penang Garabandal Centre , I am pleased to introduce you to the subject of Garabandal.

If you have not heard or read about Garabandal, it is the name of a hamlet – San Sebastian de Garabandal – located  in the foothills of the Cantabrian mountains in Northern  Spain .

That is where four young schoolgirls were subjected to Marian apparitions from 2 July 1961 until 13 November 1965. During this period of time, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared over 2000 times, which makes Garabandal unique in the history of Marian apparitions. The visitations drew huge crowds, and featured alleged paranormal phenomena, much of it filmed or photographed, with thousands of witnesses.

The girls receiving the visions were Mari Loli Mazón (May 1, 1949 – April 20, 2009), Jacinta González (born April 27, 1949), Mari Cruz González (born June 21, 1950) and Conchita González (born Feb. 7, 1949).

In this series of visitations, the Virgin Mary is often referred to as “Our Lady of Mount Carmel of Garabandal”, because she said that she was the Lady of Mount Carmel when the visionaries asked who she was.  Besides that, her appearance, dress and hairstyle looked like portrayals of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Lourdes, Fatima and Garabandal are one, a trilogy in an arc drawn through France, Portugal and Spain. Appearances in Spain are the key to the understanding of the Age of Mary in the Church.  Garabandal is the bridge between what has happened and what is to come.

During her visitations, Our Lady gave two important Messages for the world.  The first message was on the 18th of October 1961 and the second on the 18th of June 1965. The Messages of Garabandal have to do with our conversion of heart.  We must ask forgiveness for our sins and strive to lead good lives. God Bless
